Holiday Spirit, Where Did It Go?
December 15th, 2005Is it just me, or are the holidays just not as magical as they used to be? I used to get excited about the holidays, seeing family, buying presents, etc. Now It’s just winter to me. It seems so odd to look back at previous holiday seasons and think about how much fun the times leading up to the big days were.
For the past two or three years I haven’t noticed it, but this year I keep looking around at all the families out shopping and people with their Christmas trees and I just wonder why I don’t get into the swing of things anymore. Maybe it’s a part of getting older or maybe it’s just a phase I am going through. I have been trying to get into the holiday spirit today, but it ends up being a fruitless effort.
So, any tips to get into the holiday spirit? I might go check out the Christmas lights at Rhema or something… yeah….

It took me a bit to get into the holiday spirit as well, took my cousin shopping for our family and it got me in the spirit and now I’m all happy about the holidays. I wouldn’t say I am absolutely thrilled or anything, but I’m not bummed..
you’re just freaking weird!

Today I am going to make christmas cookies. If that doesn’t get me in the holiday spirit I don’t know what will.

Hello my sweets.
The hoilday spirit becomes less apparent every years as everyone falls into the overwhelming swing of presents present present. I give presents to people I made a bunch of scarfs this year and I just gave them to random people and watched their eyes light up. The sparkle in their eyes always pushes me over the bridge of the hoilday spirit. Just do something nice for someone and don’t expect anything in return. I love you Scottie!
