Unemployment Celebration
January 22nd, 2006Get your hands off the girl,
Can’t you see that she belongs to me?
And I don’t appreciate this excess company.
Though I can’t satisfy all the needs she has
And so she starts to wander…
Can you blame her?Tell me there’s a logic out there.
Leading me to better prepare
For the day that something really special might come.
Tell me there’s some hope for me.
I don’t wanna be lonely
For the rest of my days on the earth.
So I was walked out of my place of employment on Wednesday afternoon for attendance issues. This of course being my own fault for waking up late, getting stuck in traffic, etc. I am going to miss my teammates and other co-workers, but I am also looking forward to something better… Hopefully
I started festivites on Thursday night with my friends Justin and Lana by going to see a friend perform at a club called “Sax.” After being extremely impressed by heavenly vocals and simply amazing drumming, we left with a now former co-worker of mine, Katie. We made our way to Arnies downtown where we had a few drinks and played shuffle board. After that we walked to a few more places before we decided it was time for some food. We ventured to IHOP at 71st and Lewis where we happened to run into the very people we enjoyed listening to earlier that evening. We hung out there for a while before Justin and I went back to his apartment for a few more drinks before I apparently drove myself home. (I wasn’t drunk, just the following events have left my memory kinda hazy)
The next night we again traveled downtown to watch my friends band “Sam And The Stylees” play at a club called “1974″. After jamming out to them for a few hours and being shocked to find out that the girl I was hitting on for half an hour was actually married, Justin and I left to meet up with his cousin at Justins apartment. Once there I continued to sip on a mixed drink while we all talked and had a great time. After that I passed out and awoke the next afternoon.
Justin took his dear sweet time getting ready to leave (he’s worse than a woman, LOL) and then we went to my house so I could shower and get ready for the Saturday night adventure…. PUB CRAWL! We arrived at the Marriot on 71st with alcohol in hand, ready to party out. We began with our stealthy bottles of cranberry juice spiked with Absolut Vodka and QT cups of Coca-Cola spiked with Sailor Jerry. By 7:45 (15 minutes after the trolly started) we were already well buzzed, and close to drunk. The trolly was completely insane. The inside was a blast from the past, it looked like something from the 30’s. Combine that with mass quantities of alcohol, drunk people, loud music, and dancing… and you have a recipe for FUN! We all drank, partied, drank, danced, drank, hit up random bars, and did I mention we drank? We arrived back at the hotel around 1AM and headed back to Justin’s apartment where we promptly passed the hell out!
So that ended my weekend of boozing before I go out to get a new job. I am not happy about starting somewhere new, but I am looking forward to a new beginning. I had been at Dish Network since a short time after my ex left me… and even the employment process there brings back bad memories from that relationship. I need a new beginning in 2006… Something. I might have to hold off on buying my guitar until I find a new job, but I’m not sure yet. I need something to focus on other than heartache and pain. I hope this change in employment is just what I need to start something new.

In case you want your memory jolted, on Thursday night after you drove yourself home you talked to me online at around 4 am, and read a story i wrote… or part of it. I hope that helps.

oh yes… I do remember. And it was a great story. Did you finish it?
