New Interest
January 29th, 2006I wouldn’t really call poetry a new interest, but my interest has been re-awakened recently. I used to write poetry and stories years ago and I thought I was pretty good at it. I used to be a lot more creative than I am now. I have noticed that the more I read other peoples poetry, the more creative I get… Or feel, LOL. So I wanted to show you guys a poem that I really like that I just ran across last night. I will hopefully add one of my own in the future, but I want to show some other poetry.. Then add my own to future entries. Here is a poem… I really like the creativity this author has.
Remember
By: Brittany D. FullerDo you remember that night?
The night you held me so close
And you made me believe
That it was me and you forever
I really did want that
I honestly trusted in you
Three words uttered
And the smell of my hair
your cologne
It was perfect…
Yeah i remember that nightDo you remember that night?
The night we went too far
I cried and you held me
Whispering ‘I don’t want to hurt you’
And your tender touch making it ok
Never have I felt that much love
In only one touch
We made me and you into ‘us’
Yeah I remember that nightDo you remember that night?
The night you said you couldn’t,
Wouldn’t do this anymore
I cried so long
And my heart was truly broken
No one could save me
I could only wallow in my pain
Not one more word was uttered
And you never said you still loved me
Nothing would make the hurt stop
Yeah I remember that nightDo you remember that night
The night I tried to get revenge
I told myself it was ok
I made it feel right
A stranger’s arms, a chilly night
A lingering touch
That felt too hard
A soft kiss
That tasted like hate
I could only think of you
He’d never live up
Yeah I remember that nightDo you remember that night
Well you probably won’t
The night the hurt wasn’t so hard
The silence less unbearable
A friend was all I needed
Some good advice and hot cocoa
Never thought I’d say the words
Never thought I’d lose your touch
But my heart mended itself over time
And I’m forgetting what it was like
How did I ever do it?
I’m almost glad it’s over
And after all the pain you’ve caused
I realized I’d gotten over you
Yeah I remember that night…It was tonight.
Yeah, I know you’re going to say it’s depressing… but look past the negativity. You can tell it really came from within. I like it.
I modified it for a male perspective… Bored I guess…. I dunno.

Do you remember that night

The night I remembered the pain
The night I knew you were gone,
Gone from being mine, forever.
I almost wish it was just over
And after all the pain you’ve caused
I realized I’d never gotten over you
And I never will.
I realized I’d never be complete without you.
Yeah I remember that night…
It was tonight. And every night without you.
